Idris Elba – Murdah Loves John (The John Luther Character Album)

We’re fans of the show Luther.  We’re fans of Idris Elba in general.  We’ve seen the videos of him rapping on Facebook.  We still never expected him to release an album.

Okay; this really isn’t his album.  He’s just the curator of tracks similar to what DJ Mustard and DJ Khaled have done on their various releases.   What this meant to be is a soundtrack for the latest season of the BBC show, which started on December 15.  The sound is a mashup of rock, hip-hop, and R&B with all the elements fusing into a modern gothic journey through brutal world of the cop drama.
