There are two things that we love about Musiq; one, he (more often than not) tends to follow his heart musically and doesn’t fall for every trend that comes his way, and, two, he makes some poignant love songs.

Simple Things is one of those songs that strikes you with its sentiment before you really listen to what he saying.  The two levels of the track fall right in line as you watch the visual.  It has pretty straightforward imagery in terms of its storytelling but, given that most music videos tend not to have storylines anymore, that is a nice touch.  The singer almost acts as a bystander in his own story as you see him compare and contrast the values of two women who he interacts with…one of whom is his girlfriend.  It’s a good video and matches the tone and meaning of the song well.
