When we did our review of Solo, we compared Hoody to Sevyn Streeter.  Based on her new solo single, our opinion hasn’t changed and that’s a good thing.

While can kind of feel the Jay Park influence on this track due to the melody construction, Hoody still manages to make this smooth track her own.  Singing about her regret of letting down someone she loved when they needed her most, the sweetness of her voice is really what sells this track.  It’s not that she doesn’t have strength in her tone (her voice is not a whisper and has hints of being able to take lower octaves), it’s that she sounds so innocent and sorry about the way things turned out that it’s hard not to get wrapped up in the sound.

The production of this one might come as a surprise to a lot of AOMG fans as it’s not quite the hip-hop or hop&B style that we have come to know the label for in recent years (besides Sex Trip, Jay Park hasn’t put out a purely R&B track in a minute), but this makes the singer that much more of an asset to them.  We look forward to more from her as she–hopefully–increases output of her own work.

We like pop!gasa and will never take them for granted…

Lyrics:

When I think about it, why did I act that way?
What’s so wrong about being clumsy with emotions?
Just like what you expected wasn’t that big
What I wanted was very small too
Little by little, slowly
We turned against each other, breaking each other down
I didn’t feel anything, when I turned around, you weren’t there

I was like you (And you were like me)
I was like you (Yeah I was like you baby)
I was like you (yeah you were like me, and i was like you
Oh we were so crazy in love babe

I remember baby
I remember all the days
I remember
Our last

I said that I felt better and pretended to be ok
I acted relaxed because I knew I’d bury you in my heart
But what went wrong? I miss you babe
I’m regretting but it’s too late
It’s been a while, you haven’t left me yet, right?
But you had no answer, just like me

I was like you (And you were like me)
I was like you (Yeah I was like you baby)
I was like you (yeah you were like me, and i was like you
Oh we were so crazy in love babe

I didn’t know it’d be like this
When you fell down, I should’ve warmly embraced you
I should’ve told you everyone goes through this and that we should try
I didn’t know that time that can’t be turned back could be this resentful
Now I finally know for the first time
Love

I was like you (And you were like me)
I was like you (Yeah I was like you baby)
I was like you (yeah you were like me, and i was like you)
Oh we were so crazy in love babe

I was like you (And you were like me)
I was like you (Yeah I was like you baby)
I was like you (yeah you were like me, and i was like you)
Oh we were so crazy in love babe

I remember baby
I remember all the days
I remember
Our last
