Tiffany of Girls’ Generation has a similar rep to Taeyeon in that she is seen as one of the stronger voices of her group (and, just like Taeyon, that can be debatable depending on the track), so it makes since that she would drop a solo EP.

Her debut single, I Just Wanna Dance, is a eighties-pop track that allows the singer to show off both her pipes and her dance step.  The production of the track catches you attention with mid-tempo goodness and a solid, persistent beat.  Tiffany’s vocals aren’t bad at all and you can see why she got her reputation as, when she’s on her own, she seems to be letting go a little more and her tones are richer than when she’s singing with her group.  The track is a bit of lyrical letdown, though, as it’s just a string of generic platitudes over a fairly good beat.  We like it, but…

The trouble with this song is it’s just kind of there.  It isn’t anything that you would turn off if it came on the radio or randomly popped up during a streaming session, but it’s also not anything you would actively seek out.  The weird thing is that this isn’t the case with other tracks on the EP as songs like Fool and What Do I Do stand out for both their production and vocals and the latter would have had the same, if not stronger, impact as this.

Lyrics:
It’s been raining for a few days and it finally stopped tonight
I feel good
Light reflects on the wet streets

The city is like an empty stage
After a show ends
It’s alright It’s alright
Into the wet air
The street lights shine on me
I like it, my body is moving

I just wanna
dance the night away
As I close my eyes
dance in the moonlight
It’s getting hotter
I can’t stop myself, no way

I just wanna
dance the night away
dance the night away
I just wanna
dance the night away
dance the night away
I just wanna

I wanna get more messed up
Than being immersed in a very sad movie

The headlights are like
The rhythm dancing on the highway
It’s alright It’s alright
The buildings that completely fill up the space
Are like an audience
Everything is ready

I just wanna
dance the night away
As I close my eyes
dance in the moonlight
It’s getting hotter
I can’t stop myself, no way

I just wanna
dance the night away
dance the night away
I just wanna
dance the night away
dance the night away
I just wanna

I hid myself behind the masks that change every day
I just wanna get more honest right now

I just wanna
dance the night away
In the beat that my city has made
I’m falling deeper
In this moment, I feel the real me

I just wanna
dance the night away
dance the night away
I just wanna
dance the night away
dance the night away
I just wanna
