Taeyon of Girls’ Generation is considered to have one of the best idol voice in Korea. While that claim is somewhat debatable on certain tracks on her new EP, the lead single, I, has the singer belting out notes in fine form. With a voice that is perfectly textured for this kind of pop/rock track, she entrances you by the third line of the first verse. Featuring Verbal Jint in a few brief but musically well-placed sections (including an intro verse), the song has power emotionally, rising above the somewhat generic production.
The visual shows the singer struggling to be free from the work-a-day world in order to enjoy the beauty of life.
