Hello Venus has never been one of those groups that really stuck.  Their music always seemed to be just shy of memorable, either due to the lackluster vocals teamed with some good production or lackluster production with good vocals.  Their latest single, however, might change things up a little.

The bad thing for them is that this isn’t the style that most of their fans are used to; it’s slow and more jazzy.  About faking it until you make it when it comes to getting over an ex, this song shows the raw talent of this group.  Each of the members manages to distinguish herself with her chance to lead as each voice is distinct (something you might notice for the first time).  They don’t overdo it on the adlibs and really manage to convey interest and energy through their performances.  The lyrics of the track are fairly solid and the production, while still a little on the generic side, is more distinctive that the auditory mess that was I’m Ill.

While it sounds a little Red Velvet, we’re not complaining in the least.

Lyrics:
I know, though I pretend not to
I know that I have to let you go in the falling rain
Just leave me here and go

I’m trying to be strong, trying to be ok, I wanna show
Rain is falling, my heart is falling, pain is flowing

Our clear memories
When they smudge and get blurry
Will I be able to forget you?

Singing in the rain so your voice won’t linger in my ears
When raindrops touch the scars of my memories
Everything will heal
When light falls on that frozen day
I’ll ride the rain to write the ending that is unfinished

Sometimes when it’s raining
I want to think about you
But I’m hiding under the umbrella, pretending to be indifferent
It’s nothing, I’m fine, I wanna show
Because after the rain stops, that heart fluttering will come again

Don’t forget, you’re doing well
You just came back from far away
Now I’m finding my place again

Singing in the rain so your voice won’t linger in my ears
When raindrops touch the scars of my memories
Everything will heal
When light falls on that frozen day
I’ll ride the rain to write the ending that is unfinished

I’m wearing my new heels, walking on a new path
So I can smile in excited dreams again

Back to the bright days like a fairy tale
Back to the memories that are brighter than your smile
I’ll tell you that you’re a gift, I’ll thank you
I’ll keep you in my shining memories

Singing in the rain so the welled up pain will disappear
When raindrops touch the scars of my memories
Everything will heal
When light falls on that frozen day
I’ll ride the rain to write a new happy ending
