::SIGH::
The song is already a hit (currently sitting at over 2.7 million views in less than half a day) so what I say probably doesn’t matter, but this track is a snoozer. The track is severely bogged down by the extremely generic EDM production that just does nothing for it. The thing is that, for a track with so many beat switches, there is very little keeps listener invested. We did notice more country undertones for this track, something that is unique to this group and could be played up more, but it is drowned out by “blah” of the beatwork as a whole.
It’s not all bad, though. The vocals for the track are actually pretty good and they all have good energy and tone that help them bring some life to the track, it’s just not enough to save it. Each member gets a chance to stand out (line distribution aside) and we are really beginning to be able to tell the difference between them just for the audio alone. Lisa is bringing some good bars in English (we know she’s a native speaker, but she has as much flair in the Korean, which is a tough balance), but feels less front and center because the other ladies bring it with their own sections.
The lyrics are also much better than we expected just from listening the intersection of the dual language lyrics. The English references make sense in terms of a burgeoning love affair and the overall story being told, while nothing new, does make sense and expresses into that “our love sets the world and us on fire” kind of feeling very well, making them pretty relatable.
The visuals for this, as usual, are on point and made me stick around to the end of the track. It feels like the director was going for a combination of the Street and Space version of Fire, but it doesn’t feel like a direct 2NE1 copy as much as it does using the ladies as a blueprint for marketing. The thing we need for YG to do is realize that these ladies are a unique group and start treating them as such. They seems to have a lot to offer if they are allowed to be more themselves.

Lyrics:
How dare you stay in my thoughts
My ego’s hurt, I’m worried
My face is hot and my chest keeps pounding
My body can’t be controlled, I’m dizzy
you’re like a gasp of sand
Almost graspable
You’re not easy, so I’m more attracted to you
My heart isn’t going the way I want it to, I can’t believe it
Can you feel my breath
That longs for younow
When I look at you
missing you
On clumsy days, wont you set me free
Baby hold me like I’m gonna burst
Stop thinking, what’s so hard about it
Kiss me like it’s a lie, as if
I am your last love
Like it’s the last love, Li-li-like it’s the last love
Like it’s the last night, love
Like it’s the last love, Li-li-like it’s the last love
As if tomorrow doesn’t exist
Uh Imma fall in love baby
You finna catch me
Uh give you all of this baby
Call me pretty and nasty
Cause we gonna get it
my love you can bet it on
black we gon double
the stack on them whoa!
I be the Bonnie and
you be my Clyde
We ride or die
Xs and Os
Time is flying by
And my heart gets impatient
My world only thinks of you
missing you
On clumsy days, won’t you set me free
Baby hold me like I’m gonna burst
Stop thinking, what’s so hard about this
Kiss me like it’s a lie, as if
I am your last love
Like it’s the last love, Li-li-like it’s the last love
Like it’s the last night, love
Like it’s the last love, Li-li-like it’s the last love
As if tomorrow doesn’t exist
One two three
It’s a new beginning
Because I won’t ever look back
If I throw myself to you
You have to catch me for real
Because the world can’t hold us down
BLACKPINK in your area
Baby hold me like I’m gonna burst
Stop thinking, what’s so hard about this
Kiss me like it’s a lie, as if
I am your last love
Like it’s the last love, Li-li-like it’s the last love
Like it’s the last night, love
Like it’s the last love, Li-li-like it’s the last love
As if tomorrow doesn’t exist
