I think the thing that may have messed up Tweet back when she debuted with Oops (Oh My) was that, despite how good the song was, it didn’t fit the rest of the album or her overall style all that well.
That mistake wasn’t made with Charlene, though. Ever moment of the album is pure ambrosia; lyrics and production from a woman who knows who she is as an artist and is unafraid to express it. She strums her guitar and puts that smoky voice to work as she sings about love the way only a woman who has really lived life’s ups and downs can. Tweet will have you grooving in your chair one minute and reminiscing about the one that got away the next all while keeping the ride fun and connecting with you in the best way an singer can.
