After the tragic deaths of members EunB and RiSe, I think anyone would be forgiven for thinking that we had heard the last of Ladies’ Code.  How wrong we were.

Pulling themselves together as a trio and doing an unforseen (but understandable) style change, the group has managed to lure back old fans and peak the interest of new ones with the jazzy Galaxy.

The vocals are rich and deep for only having three members and each vocalist manages to distinguish herself from the others through unique vocal tones.  The production is almost flawless, ebbing and flowing with energy and then with mellow mood.  The lyrics are poetic but not inaccessible as they can describe both meeting someone who throws off your center of gravity or the remaining member speaking to their departed bandmates in the hereafter.

The biggest complaint we have is, towards the end of the song, something in the sound layer feels like it goes awry and the drumbeat syncopates.  It doesn’t ruin the song by any means (mostly because it almost unnoticeable due to the short duration and variations in audio setups), but it can throw some listeners off.

pop!gasa is the center of our galaxy…

Lyrics:
When the star opens its eyes, it shines on me
Oh hi you there, please see me
I’ll climb the hill
Please save me, who is waving and smiling

The star cut through the moon, my heart is dancing
The time has come
Our secret sign that only I know
Hi, I’ve waited for you

Will you take me to the galaxy?
(Mayday)
An endless emergency
Here, the universe that shines in the darkness
Will you please greet the unfamiliar me?

About to touch but not, my heart is impatient
The O2 level is decreasing
I can’t stop this attraction to you
It feels like I’ve seen you for a second before
I suddenly remember
A light that I found in the endless darkness

When I open my eyes, it’s dark space
Oh that’s okay, this is Deja vu
At this place where no one knows me
I feel so comfortable

You twinkled as if you came to me
Hi, I’ve waited for you

Will you take me to the galaxy?
(Mayday)
An endless emergency
Here, the universe that shines in the darkness
Will you please greet the unfamiliar me?

Take me to the galaxy
Save me from the
jealousy

Hi, I’ve waited for you

Will you pull me
From the gravity (Hurry)
Hold my hands, Can you see
The universe that shines in the darkness
Will you please greet the unfamiliar me?

About to touch but not, my heart is impatient
The O2 level is decreasing
I can’t stop this attraction to you
It feels like I’ve seen you for a second before
I suddenly remember
A light that I found in the endless darkness
