The Korean freak is coming out to play in some of these videos.

Dash isn’t exactly new to the K-R&B scene, but his previous releases doesn’t seem to have gotten a lot of attention.  He may have found a solution to that with his new single because it is a bedroom banger.

The slow burn of this production is a winner as it manages to hover nicely between being a slow jam and being mid-tempo thumper thanks to the contrast between the melody and the persistence of the bass.  The beatwork is his highly active; there’s occasional snare, a rising and falling echo, and the addition and subtraction of track elements to give different sound in different sections.  It’s almost too much for many singers to be able to compete with, especially on a babymaker where the point is to sound sexy, but it never overwhelms and provides good energy overall.

Dash’s vocals are nice; he doesn’t seem to step to far out of what is the core of the track in terms of obvious adlibs, but he doesn’t really need to for something like this.  Part of the reason for this is the backing vocals that are always present.  They provide nice highlights to what could be seen as plan vocals but are not so obtrusive that they kill the intimacy of the song.  With a his lower tenor range he comes across as confident while managing to separate himself from the King of the Guilty Pleasure Tracks, Jay Park.

The lyrics were a bit of a surprise to us.  While many Korean R&B songs have that sexual sound without actually being so (especially when coming from a company like Genie), this one is clearly sexual.  It may more metaphorical at times than say, Sex Tripthere’s really only two things he could be talking about: sex or dancing.  And since dancing is usually a metaphor for sex, we end up right back where we started.  Still the fact that they are somewhat veiled is still a nice touch and the give a nice middle ground between more explicit content and the highly inoffensive.

Sidenote: Isn’t the bedroom set here the same one in Rico’s ‘Til The Sun Comes Up?

Lyrics:
We riding round the city
This clear spring smell and our feeling of compatibility
Hold me when you go up, I’ll hold you when you go down.
We go up and down, round and round (like) merry
Your voice in the tonic is so sexy to me
My heart is running as if your breath is running
How you like it baby
I did not even know if those hit spots were so good.

We go up we go down
Do not let go of my hand.
Take my hand, scream and shout
We are the only two of us here baby you and me
We go up we go down
Do not let go of my hand.
Take my hand, scream and shout
We are the only two of us here baby you and me
We go up down just me and you baby
We go up down just me and you against the world baby

Oh girl (I) wanna see an angel
I wanna see your face
Our shadows take on rhythm
I wonder too (oh) Your tenderness
You are the beautiful line of valley,
I’ll hold you on your shoulder. I’ll hold you with your right arm.
I’ll pull the rope down and pull it.
We’ll teach you tonight together tonight.
Believe me, sweet midnight baby (yeah)

We go up we go down
Do not let go of my hand.
Take my hand, scream and shout
We are the only two of us here baby you and me
We go up we go down
Do not let go of my hand.
Take my hand, scream and shout
We are the only two of us here baby you and me

You look in my eyes above me
I’m in love with my baby.
You look down on me
I’m in love with baby
You look in my eyes above me
I’m in love with baby
You look down on me
I’m in love with baby

We go up we go down
Do not let go of my hand.
Take my hand, scream and shout
We are the only two of us here baby you and me
We go up down just me and you baby
We go up down just me and you against the world baby
We go up down just me and you baby
We go up down just me and you against the world baby
