British trio Depeche Mode has returned with their new single titled Where’s the Revolution from their upcoming fourteenth album, Spirit.  The song doesn’t disappoint and matches what Depeche Mode has clearly trademarked as “their sound.”

Hard synthesizers and guitar mixed with Dave Gahan ageless vocals is the reason why this band has been around for 35 years.  Although this song could definitely fit in somewhere with the past two albums, the current political climate inspired Martin Gore to provide a lyrical version of feelings of being lied to, abused, pushed around by elected officials.  His solution; let’s protest and start a revolution because that time has come.

Depeche Mode is definitely no stranger to controversial lyrics and speaking their mind, so let’s see if the rest of their album continues to motivate all of us to start a revolution, because we don’t want to let Depeche Mode down.
