MAAD (formerly known as Maad*Moiselle) returns with a simple but sexy little joint featuring Ro James that has both singers giving us the sonorous equivalent to lovemaking (that might be an oxymoron) in musical form.
The vocals on this are just enough to stand out against the beat but subdued enough to be seductive and very much indicative of two people enjoying each other. The adlibs are minimal but work here and the two singers play off each other well. They sound like two people whispering to each other about how the other makes them feel. It’s a good way to go, especially with the minimal lyrics that are direct but not raunchy.
The interesting thing is the production. What starts out as a simple, hearbeat-like bassline continually escalates as the tracks goes on. More and more instruments jump into the mix, things get a little louder, and the pace seems to quicken just a little as we get closer and closer to the end. After a climax that is just a little off-kilter, things fade and the last thirty seconds are just the remnants of what came before. If that isn’t a metaphor the physical act of love, I don’t know what is.
