With his new album, Vibes, likely to come out sometime in the next three months, Cardiac Da Pulse is coming with some conscious heat.
While it’s clear that the lyrics are not constructed as much around rhymes as most rap singles, you can get away with it when you actually have something to say. This song focuses on the power that the black community has in its purchasing power and that, perhaps, some of it should be redirected to support black businesses, especially those that provide a service to or reinvestment in the neighborhoods in which they exist. A worthy topic.
On the production front, this track has a dark and powerful beat; a good match for the theme. The vocals on the chorus are a nice balance to Cardiac’s intense flow. As we said, the lyrical construction isn’t a perfect, rhyme-based construction, but it works as a kind of beat poetry/poetry slam mechanism for a more important point. We like this and think that everyone should really listen to it at least once and feel its power.
