It’s been a couple of years since we heard from D.P. Da Prophet, but that time away has brought some changes to his music. Not the kind of changes where he completely abandons what he was about because the fame wasn’t instantaneous; the good kind of change. Still on about the more life affirming things that separate him from so many rappers out there, his rhymes are tighter and his production choices are stronger. He shows a growth in his style and substance that is essential to longevity in the industry as well as growing an audience of listeners.
Our favorite is Good Morning America, which does an excellent job of giving voice to the frustration of black people all across the country about the recent (although, honestly, just more visible) rash of attacks on our autonomy and lives.
