He had us worried when he took the name The Husel and recorded the most unexpected rap freEP of 2014, but Musiq Soulchild has returned to what fans love him for and we all are grateful for it.

His latest, I Do, takes the singer back to his soulful roots and focuses around his feelings about the woman he loves.  It’s an interesting concept for a love song, talking about the times when you don’t like the person you’re with as much as others, but the point that he still would rather be with her even in those moments is an important one that shows a mature attitude about relationships.  Add to that the melodic but conversational vocal delivery of Musiq’s and you have a recipe to make fans of the artist say I do again as well.

This is the first single of the singer’s upcoming seventh studio album.
