The release of Janet Jackson first studio album in seven years is just a week away but, despite an already successful tour and strong preorder sales, she still has a little more preview to give us.

Last night the singer posted the track that people who have attended her concerts have been talking about since she kicked off in Vancouver.  BurnItUp features frequent collaborator Missy Elliott doing her thing on an intro verse before Jackson comes in with smooth and energetic vocals.  About music that makes them want to dance, this track has a easily danceable beat and is far more upbeat than her last two tracks (Unbreakable and No Sleeep).  While it still has that core Jackson sound, some might detect a hint of Justin Timberlake in the underlying beat (due likely to influences Elliott as she and Timberland have similar production styles).  The effect is perfect, however, as the track has a more modern sound than some might have expected but without losing Jackson’s sonic identity.

Unbreakable will be available October 2.  Click the shopping cart in the player to preorder.
