Including the single At.Lanta, Jayd Ink’s Invitation Only is a sensual sonic journey that shows that the Toronto-based singer has the ability to ride a darker beat.  Her sweetheart tone wouldn’t seem to be a good fit for the Alt. R&B productions she’s chosen, but the strength of her voice and the confidence that she sounds out makes it work.  While a lot of the beatwork is similar, the fact that this EP is only five tracks ensures that the listener won’t get bored before it’s finished.  The lyrics are nice and primarily deal with the ins and out of love and desire (with the exception of At.Lanta, which is about the songstress declaring her freedom against those who might want to bring her down).  The complete EP feels like a nice, quick meal; leaving you satisfied but not overly full.
