Releasing an EP that seems to be meant to flush of their more uptempo album, Red Velvet’s The Velvet shows the range that the member’s voices have when it comes to style. There are several different types of slow jams here. Cool Hot Sweet Love is a very modern hop&B track, First Time has a hint of country, and Rose Scented Breeze is a more traditional Korean ballad. They all sound great but, we have to say, Light Me Up is our favorite (other than the lead single) because of the full vocals work and tight production.
The biggest disappointment is that the last three tracks are just remixes of One Of These Nights, but we do like having a piano version of the track so that the vocals of it really shine through.
