In contrast to Rico Love’s new song, Jay Love is taking things in a different direction with his contrition over messing up a relationship.
Desperate to stop the woman he loves from walking out the door for good, the singer puts all his feelings out on the table for her to see. Lyrically and vocally, this song does a good job of showing emotion and awareness of lack of control that he has over this situation. The lyrics seem to come from a man who is barely keeping it together and the vocals, while never pitchy, reinforce that feeling. The production, while minimal, enhances the feeling of song while allowing Love to show off his delivery without doing too much.
This continues to run of strong tracks that this still relatively unknown artist has put out. Here’s hoping that he continues to grow his audience as well as his solid musical output.
