Kristinia DeBarge continues her Music Monday releases with a song that stands out not only because of how good it sounds but also for how well it’s written.

About her coming to terms with an ended relationship, the singer reminisces on the times that she stood up for her lover and all the times he didn’t stand up for her.  Her vocals fluctuate between sing-song rap and sweetheart vocals, but it fits the mood that she is trying to convey.  The production has that characteristically dark, alt. R&B feel that has become so popular in the last few years.  It’s the lyrics that really standout as being to the point while still having enough metaphor to make the listener have to think a little.

And can we just say, we like the fact that she called the song Church instead of Something To Believe In.  It immediately reminds the listener of the faith in each other that two people in a relationship should have without having to spell it out so specifically at the beginning.
