Leon Thomas, also known as Leon Thomas III, was born on August 1, 1993 in Brooklyn, New York. Leon is quite the master of the arts; not only is he a singer but he is also an actor, producer, and songwriter. On top of everything else he does, Leon is also a musician who plays five different instruments.
At the young age of 10 he starred in his first Broadway performance, The Lion King (1994). Since then he has continued with stage acting and even taken up television and film acting. He has 14 acting credits to his name, including big names such as Bad Ass 2: Bad Asses and three shows for Nickelodeon (Victorious, iCarly, and the Backyardigans). He now lives in Los Angeles, California.
Leon’s lead single is titled Forever which quickly went viral along with its music video. His first mixtape is titled Metro Hearts has also become very popular, especially among fans of Victorious. The mixtape contains several songs from the show’s soundtrack. Through Metro Hearts, Leon earned the opportunity to go on tour with both Big Time Rush and Cody Simpson.
A second single, entitled Hello How Are You, features Wiz Khalifa. A third single is slated for release soon. In 2014 Leon released his second single, V1bes. Soon a music video will be available for “Hello How Are You”.
Five of the songs on Ariana Grande’s 2013 Yours Truly album were co-produced by Leon. He also co-wrote four of the songs on the same album. He has done other work for Ariana Grande as a part of The Rascals, a production duo featuring Leon and Chris Tines. The duo’s work has gone on to win a Grammy award-winning album.
Leon’s music features both R&B and pop sounds. Being a songwriter, he writes all of the work that he performs. Currently his label is Rostrum Records.
