Our friend over at WillCollection had hoped that Tink’s new freelease would be aimed more at the R&B side of her fanbase and, it seems, he may have gotten his wish.
While the rapper/singer does take the opportunity to lay down some bars, the majority of the tracks are definitely solid slow jams. Radio-friendly in their scope but with enough of her core style to distinguish it from the rest of the pack, this is just the project to get people excited for her upcoming album. Her vocals, despite the autotune, are good and the production is more than solid (Our least favorite track is the Timbaland produced L.E.A.S.H, mostly because it breaks the mood set by the tracks that surround it.). With most of the tracks being love songs, the lyrical territory is pretty well-trod but not disinteresting. This is strong enough to make it through the summer months to winter, when most of these tracks would be great for a night in with someone special.
