This is a little different from Lion Babe.  Still having that neo-soul undertone to their sound thanks to the vocalization style of Jillian Hervey, but this has a more upbeat and more modern sounding in the production.  Impossible seems to have two trains of thought running though it.  The first seems to be about letting people who think you aren’t up to the task (of whatever) that they’re negativity can’t get you down.  The second seems to be about telling that guy that thinks Hervey is going to be an easy conquest to think again.  The ambiguity of the lyrics means that neither meaning is spelled out explicitly but also means that both can make complete sense without confusing the listener.  The more dance-styled production will open the group up to new listeners while Hervey’s vocals will keep those who liked their earlier work on the hook.  It’s not the most memorable song the duo have done, but it’s nice to hear them explore new sounds.
