Motown artist Mila J (who now goes by just Mila) follows up her debut EP M.I.L.A. (Made in L.A.) with a collaboration project alongside L.A. duo Logan and Zou of BC Kingdom.
Sonically, Press Start is a different approach for Mila, showing her growth as an artist by linking up with such innovative producers for what they call “musical androgyny.” And what you’ll hear is just that. Mila, Logan, and Zou’s vocals meld together to form one, genre-bending melody.
About the project Mila says this side of her has been pinned up in her creative bubble for a while now. “This has been a fun and liberating experience. I was able to tap into a deeper / darker side of myself that I’ve been wanting the world to see and hear, she explained. “BC Kingdom understood where I wanted to go sonically and the chemistry with them was undeniable. We blended so well with one another. Expect more from this musical marriage.”
BC Kingdom’s Logan and Zou added, “We experimented with so much music and so many different sounds. It is truly the perfect mesh of both of our worlds. We always wanted to work with a female artist and being LA natives, we knew MILA was the perfect fit. Her voice and tone are so distinct that it added another dimension to the songs. This is the perfect up-and-down love story soundtrack for the summer.”
