Peace is more than the absence of war

After performing in the city for Mothers’ Day, Prince releases a track dedicated to the protests and riots that exploded Baltimore and other cities around the nation.  Mention Michael Brown and Freddie Gray, he reiterates that there a can be no peace without the presence of justice because the downtrodden will never be at ease.  The song’s production is surprisingly upbeat for such a dower subject, but the strong vocals by Prince and Eryn Allen Kane add the gravity.  Add to that some amazing guitar skills from the Royal Purple One and what sounds like a gospel choir and what you get is an amazing protest song.

Our favorite part has to be the end as Prince recognizes that while we are focused on Baltimore today, similar incidents keep proving that the deaths of Brown, Gray, and Martin are happening far too frequently.
