Don’t be fooled by what may seem like an R&B-styled production by Knuckle Head (it’s actually a 90’s throwback style slowed down), August Alsina has a love for hip-hop. Naming the track after the genre, Alsina goes on to explain the effect that the music has had on his life as well as how it has reflected it. While there are tinges of autotune on the track, especially in the bridge, Alsina’s voice sounds good and natural. He stays in his natural range but still makes the song interesting to listen to. They lyrics are autobiographical and are personal enough to make him connect to the material without being so personal that no one else can.
While we don’t if this an official single or a leak from an upcoming album. All we know is that he are eager to hear what he is coming with next.
