Probably the only all-Polynesian member R&B group to ever get anywhere near the mainstream, Boyz of Paradise made a splash with their first single, a remake of Shining Star by The Manhattans. Their second single was the one that showed they had the ability to do more than remakes (although their album has a version of Reasons that will make you wonder why they aren’t still around). The Runaround had some of the biggest production and writing names in R&B behind it, but could not propel this talented set beyond the confines of their small fanbase. Still, Ricky’s falsetto I great and the groove of the song is infectious. Had they come along at a different time, they may have had a better shot.
