Newcomer Tony Collins is upping the game with hew debut EP Last Night.  Perhaps learning the lessons of some his contemporaries, the singer/songwriter doesn’t allow himself to get sucked into production that won’t make the songs listenable next year.  Instead, he fuses modern sounds and lyricism with tried-and-true techniques.  His tenor tone is strong and the vocals are a perfect fit for the love-laced mood the EP tries to set.  While most of the tracks in this project are slow jams, there are a few mid-tempo and up-tempo songs so that things don’t get to monotonous.

Firing a shot like this right out of the gate, we see great things on the horizon for Collins.
