Daron Jones of 112 is taking us to church this morning!

Starting off with an introduction that melds gospel with R&B and allows him to show of those pipes, Daron Jones drops a mixtape full of ballad covers done to acoustic piano.  Jones’ decision to keep the production simple was a smart one as his verbose vocal style on these songs would be a little too much for the ears to handle with more intricate beatwork.  The biggest downside to some of these songs is that fact that Jones decided to do so many runs that he loses control here and there.

Our personal favorite is his cover of Zoom by The Commodores.  It’s perfectly voiced and just hits the ears perfectly with just the right amount of adlibs.
