Despite what some people think, Mýa has been pretty active musically over the last couple of years.  Last year she released two solid EPs, With Love and Sweet XVI, and this year she released Love Elevation Suite for Valentine’s Day.

Well, it appears that we may be getting ready for another drop as she has just released the R&B-styled Welcome To My World.  About letting a person see the real you no matter what the circumstances, this track has a throwback feel to it.  The production feels like it would have been right at home on either her Moodring or Fear Of Flying albums but without sounding dated.  The lyrics are simple with a dash of bravado thrown in, making it a good balance of love song and pick-up track.  Mýa’s voice has barely changed in the now 17 years of her debut (maybe only slightly deeper), and she still can pull of a youthful sound without it coming off as forced.  The combination of these elements becomes something that feels adult without making the listener feel old.

This is the first single from the singer’s upcoming album, Planet 9, due out next year.
