Signed to Janelle Monáe’s Wondaland Records and featured on The Eephus, Roman GianArthur shows us what he has to offer on this freEP, OK Lady.  Starting off with a mashup of D’Angelo’s Lady and Radiohead’s All I Need, the singer and guitarist takes us on a soul journey that will remind some people of Monáe’s early tracks in their outer space sound.  You can hear gospel influences in a lot of his production choices as well as some Prince.  The lyrics, which range from the immediately accessible to the somewhat cryptic, have a feeling like some of his labelhead’s early tracks and have you feeling like knowledge has been dropped and you might have missed something.  While this isn’t for every mood, it’s a good listen that fills the soul.
