Mayer Hawthorne is reaching into his vault to give us a peppy, unreleased track.
Handy Man has the singer telling the woman he loves that, no matter what, he can fix things for her just fine. Whether you take the song sexually or as a general declaration of love, the upbeat song will put you in a good mood. The production, while stylistically more of a fit for the DJ’s first two albums, has the upbeat feel that makes it seem like it might come from the Where Does This Door Go? era or, at least, the transitional period between the two. The lyrics are nice and get right to the point with just enough ambiguity to let the listener get out of it what they will.
If you want to purchase Handy Man, you better get while the getting’s good. The song is exclusively available on a limited edition hammer USB thumb drive purchasable through Hawthorne’s website. Click the button below the player if you’re interested.
