James Fauntleroy has announced that his new mixtape, Coldest Summer Ever, will be coming soon and he has been releasing tracks to get us ready for it.

Mid-Air, while short, is about the feeling of being separated from the one you love and hoping that things don’t change before you get back together.  The track has the singer’s folk-styled guitar as it’s backtrack and it works well, adding a mix of melancholy and anticipation.

The longer track, Sex High (Ashes On The Moon), has a more mellow, Neptunes feel to it.  This is about the after-glow feeling that people get when their with someone who really hits the spot (figuratively and literally).  The singer’s layered vocals have a nice effect here and the repeated phrase of I’m not through has the feeling of someone holding back to make the pleasure last longer.
