Taking some inspiration from Usher’s hit U Don’t Have To Call, Kay Cola is letting the man that has taken her for granted that she is done with him. Over a dark but energetic beat, she lets him know all the things that are going on in her life that have nothing to do with him. The singer’s vocals are probably the most engaged they have been in a while as she puts in the attitude necessary to carry the track. The lyrics are the usual, but make sense with the subject matter. Iamsu sticks to the core of the track and deliver a verse from the perspective of the ditched guy. Kool John, while fitting in with the theme overall, seems to deliver his verse as is he is the aggrieved party that has been wronged. The outcome is a decent club track that doesn’t really separate itself from the pack but doesn’t fade into the background either.
For The Dreamers drops July 21.
