Newcomer Niqa Mor unleashed her alt. R&B soul on us and it is a thing to behold.  On a project that features dark productions that can blend into each other at times, so it makes sense that the singer would show her diverse set of skills by singing, rapping, and songwriting.  While she feels that she gets her inspirations from 90’s R&B, there is very little about this set that sounds throwback.  There are moments here and there that might remind you of an old Timbaland production, but the style is definitely modern.  The lyrical content is solid as it bounces between the poetic and street without the whiplash feeling that can sometimes happen when people try to combine too many thoughts together.  While it’s not perfect, it is definitely a strong compilation from a new artist.
