R∆§H∆Ð has stepped back behind the microphone to give us two new tracks with mellow, summer vibes.
The first track, I Thought About Leaving Her, is about him realizing what an amazing woman he has in his life while he was at the cusp of cheating. The song has a similar meaning to the Donell Jones classic Where I Wanna Be in that he is considering leaving not to cheat. The song’s construction (production and lyrics) reminded us of Jones as well, but not in a way that makes it seem like a copy; more like an inspiration. R∆§H∆Ð’s vocals are mellow but, even though he doesn’t do much adlibbing, he never sounds bored.
The second track, Turn Down, is a babymaker about R∆§H∆Ð wanting to chill with his lady. While there is a little autotune in places (unneeded in our opinion), it doesn’t dominate the track. The production has a chopped and screwed quality to it, especially the backing melody. R∆§H∆Ð’s vocals are nice, but we feel there is a little too much turn down here and parts of the track can make you feel disengaged. Still a nice track, but not as strong as it could be.
