While we wait to see if he will ever release The Playboy Diaries, Vol. 2, Lloyd keeps us enticed with one-off tracks like Girl From The South. Starting off with an acoustic guitar that will remind some of Southside before transitioning to a little R&Bass, the singer calls out to all the ladies in the south who can understand his country grammar and seem to be ride-or-die. The lyrics could be stronger as the majority of this song could be about any girl from anywhere. Still, Lloyd’s vocals are as good as they’ve ever been and his tone is engaging, making up for some of the lyrical deficiencies.
