It’s been about a year since we heard from Azekel and the time away has him switching is production style up a little bit.

Still rooting in soul, the stronger electronic elements of his new track give it this really upbeat, happy feeling.  Mad About The Boy has the singer letting his paramour know that he knows she’s interested in him, no matter how she tries to play it.  His vocals are little toned down with few adlibs, but that works with this track as the beatwork is pretty active on its own.

The lyrics are solid and manage to pull off something that tracks like this rarely do; not sounding like egotistical jerk.  Usually, in a song that essentially says, “I know you want me,” there is a moment where things go from being confident to being a little overbearing; that doesn’t happen here.  I sounds like he’s just stating a fact that she’s interested and is entreating her to get at him.  It’s a nice element that we like to see.
