Bilal sees himself as just a satellite; rotating through the world and watching the lives of people as they pass. His new track, which is going to be featured on his new album, has him teaming up with producer Adrian Younge to bring a more concrete feel to his music; although the core of Bilal (surrealism) is still there. The production of the track gives the feeling of someone walking through the streets, taking in all that they see. The vocals are pure ecstasy with the singer showing off his range through both tone and adlibs without overdoing it and making the song unlistenable.
This is the type of track that will be the backbone of his new album. Bilal said, “I always try to paint pictures with my music…I like telling stories, stories you can see,” said Bilal. “With this album, I take a step back. I am moving away from the surrealism in my last album to explore the reality of the time.”
His upcoming album, In Another Life, is expected out June 30.
