Jordan Bratton has released two new tracks in anticipation of his first pay EP.

The first track, Bound, reminded us a little of the early BeBe and CeCe Winans tracks with its dual purpose lyrics.  Singing about either God or a person saving his soul and making it possible for him to love again, there is triumph in the track.  Bratton’s vocals are energetic and strong with emotion, making it feel like you are getting the spirit yourself, especially with the Stevie Wonder-esque adlibs.  The production has a bit of a throwback sound and is full of energy, adding the good mood the track evokes.

The second track, Victoria, gives a cappella, African-styled goodness before the chorus before we get a full-out African production.  In a song about leaving a woman (or the city of Victoria in Gauteng, South Africa) even though he loves her.  His vocals are strong and the track is upbeat as he begs her forgiveness for moving on with his life while promising to always love her.

Bratton’s EP, Youth, comes out today (May 12).  Click the shopping cart in the first player to purchase it and support the artist.
