Snoop Dogg’s new, Pharrell-produced album entitled Bush comes out next week (May 12) and it’s a solid groove.  Featuring a Pharrell production that reminded us a little of Kelis’ Sugar Honey Iced Tea, Snoop sings about taking care of his lady by taking her out to his home state and letting her enjoy the good life.  There is a similarity to this track and Snoop’s Beautiful in that he does wear his heart on his sleeve more on this track.  He isn’t professing eternal love in flowery lyrics, but we don’t think Snoop would do that anyway so this seems more real.

We are wondering if the featuring Stevie Wonder part.  It either came as a result of the Blurred Lines verdict and, rather than risk being sued again, the producer credited Wonder for the a similar-sounding harmonica; or, that actually is Stevie Wonder on the harmonica (like Paul McCartney on recent Kanye West productions).  Whichever it is, we thing the addition of it help add a feeling to the track that reminds us of old love songs, which is nice, though doesn’t entirely fit.
