Where did this track come from?

Just a few weeks ago Miguel released a 3-track EP that seemed to signal the start of the singer’s new era of music.  Those tracks, while have that core Miguel sound, had a different feel than other tracks he had previously done.  This track sounds like it may have come from the time of his mixtape or first album.  We’re not complaining, though; it sounds great.

The upbeat track has Miguel celebrating his success with his lady and thanking her for her part in it.  As previously stated the track doesn’t sound all that out of place against current radio hits, but it is brighter and still has a hint of the EDM creep that was happening when the singer made his second run for musical stardom.  The lyrics are solid though and it’s nice to hear a track that celebrates a relationship for more than the sexual aspects of it.
