There’s an old saying, “Dance with the one what brung ya.”  Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings have a song to remind people of that.

Over old-school (real) instrumentation, the cancer-surviving singer first relates the story of a man that believes he’s in woman he barely knows just because of that new feeling and then, from the woman’s point of view, of someone who might be afraid of a new woman coming between her and her man.  Jones’ vocals are soulful and strong without being overdone and a good match for the instrumentation.  The lyrics are little off in the fact that they don’t always rhyme, but it doesn’t diminish the song to much.  It’s a highly enjoyable tune for those looking for an old-school groove.
