Whoa dere, daddy daddy!

A month ago, when we reviewed Lamar Starzz’s Blow My Mind, we expected the EP that the single was promoting to be full of similar tracks; radio-friendly R&B with a sultry, slightly edgey tinges.  Oh, how wrong we were!  Five songs on this nine track EP will have you feeling like you’re in the middle of a full-fledged freak down.  While the other songs are like Blow My Mind, it is a really jarring contrast when the momentum of the tracks swings so wide as they do.  But that doesn’t mean that this is a bad project; it just could have been sequenced better.  What is good is that every track has Starzz showing his vocal abilities to the max without overdoing it.  Each track has the right amount of emotion based on the subject matter of the track and, you can tell, at times he gets so into it that he turns away from the mic a little.  No problem there; we like a man that gives his all.
