BJ The Chicago Kid is not slowing down as he prepares for his next major label release. Just a week or so after dropping the reflective It’s True, he gives us the more autobiographical Where I’m From. Featuring two verses from rapper J. Ivy, this track chronicles some of the duo’s experiences as they grew up and continue to grow as men.
The combination of these two track has us thinking that his next project will be a more street-oriented and a little less babymaker-oriented; which is fine with us. There’s a lot of value in an artist remember where they come from and what most of their fans are still going through.
