De La Soul and Chuck D are giving us some social consciousness this morning.
Taking on issues in the black community that deal with who we are, how other see us, and the things that we choose to downplay, the rappers are letting the youth out there know that there has to be more than Twitter activism and earning money done to support the cause. This track is laced with thought pride all over an old-school production. With lines like complaints ain’t nothin’ but a lazy man’s sofa, you get both knowledge and lyrical dexterity.
