I don’t know what it is about an MNEK track.  Maybe it’s the 90’s EDM throwback sound.  Maybe it’s the strong vocal performances.   Maybe it’s the fact that his music is just so feel good.  Whatever it is, I’m here for it.

On his new track, The Rhythm, the singer sounds determined not to let the beat of the music get to him because he will be overcome by the urge to dance all night.  Comparing his love of the dancefloor to all kinds of obsessions, the lyrics here are solid; far better than average for a track that is meant to be danced to.  His baritone vocals are completely on point and his adlibs add just the right amount of flavor so that they’re distinguishable from the busy production, but don’t sound like random noise on top of it.  The third oringal track he had released in six months, we can only hope there is a longer project on the horizon.
