While he might sound a little Drake-esque, but any artist that uses a sample of Herb Alpert and Janet Jackson’s Making Love In The Rain deserves a listen (at least, in my book). Deciding to tackle all sides of music making, from singing and rapping to writing and production, Maurice is putting the same effort into his own career that he has put into making music for others (Lotus Flower Bomb, Uptown, Diamond Girl). His lyrics are solid and he pays close attention to the mood that each song is trying to set when creating production for it. While this is only three tracks, I’m sure that we can look forward to more releases soon.
