Jennifer Hudson’s music is sometimes hit-or-miss with her audience.  She usually sounds best when she’s belting out a ballad but, when she tries to go a little more mainstream with her sound, she can sometimes fall flat.  It appears that she is trying to split the difference with her upcoming album JHUD, available September 23rd, by providing danceable tunes that all have a bit of a retro vibe to them.  Her latest single, Dangerous, fits right into that model but some might find the lyrics a bit disingenuous coming from the American Idol singer.  While the song doesn’t sound bad, the listener might find themselves tuning out to wonder who could have done more justice to the track.
